“Susan, could you please take me to see the lawyer tomorrow?”

My nurse, Susan, got that exasperated look on her face again. This was becoming a real issue.

“Mary, I don’t think tomorrow is a good day.”

“But Susan when will you take me?”

“Look Mary it is not like the world will end in three days. Soon, ok?”

“The world as I know it can’t end soon enough!”

I think she needs a new nurse! Is the attorney for her defense after she kills Tom?

    • Tessa says:

Thank you for reading Janna! I still haven’t decided how she is going to get her freedom from Tom — the more traditional way by divorce or his death! 🙂

  3. this is short and right. I liked it too.

    • Tessa says:

Thank you Ruby! These prompts are helping me learn to express things in fewer words and without all the descriptive sentences we usually put in pieces. A real challenge! Thank you for reading!

Boy howdy, have I felt like that. I love the tone of your piece.

  5. Thanks so much for linking up with Trifecta this week. I enjoyed this piece, and I also enjoyed the comments. “Boy howdy” is rather awesome. But so is hearing you say that you’re feeling challenged and that your head is swimming. That’s so good to hear. This is a really nice take on the prompt. Tight and clear. Hope to see you back soon.

Thank you! Definitely challenging, lots of ideas, not sure where it will take me next and the deadlines are actually good for me. Thank you so much for reading!
