I Pledge Allegiance – prompt from the Daily Post

I Pledge Allegiance

Are you patriotic? What does being patriotic mean to you?

I pledge allegiance to the pursuit of life, liberty and freedom. At the moment I have a hard time finding that here in the US of A. I won’t discuss my politics here. I will just say that the whole government is responsible for the mess we are now in and we should clean house and start over.

We take land that belonged to the Native Americans (and yes I lay claim to having my heritage as part of the Native American heritage) and we don’t pay them for it. And now we are claiming the land for our own and trying to keep others out. We are all immigrants unless pure Native Americans. Alright so there is some politics in here, sorry, got carried away. But it does bother me when we claim this country as ours and don’t want to let others in when we all did the same thing to the Native Americans.

And if that isn’t bad enough, every time some one cries that we are offending them with something, it becomes banned. Give me a break. Our country is supposed to be free and we shouldn’t be banning our long acquired pursuits of happiness and freedom every time someone from another religion cries foul. I don’t remember this country taking away their heritage and religious freedoms.

Wake up people before we lose our country, our freedoms, our liberty and our happiness.

About Tessa

My name is Tessa Dean and I am an author and blogger. My writing styles vary and I love writing using prompts. I am also writing my first book, a Memoir entitled "Government Property - A Memoir of a Military Wife".  This is being published on the blog rather than the traditional way. I am putting up chapters as I go along. I keep my blog filled with useful content, stories, and poems. Plenty to keep you busy. I have also been interviewed by blogs and had other posts published on many different blogs. I also wrote a series of articles on Bipolar Disorder for IBPF (International Bipolar Foundation). I am in my 60’s and disabled which allows me plenty of time to write to my heart’s content. I live in southern New Jersey and have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. My oldest grandchild is a Sargent in the United States Marine Corps.
