The gym I worked in had lots of loose equipment which they preferred to leave out in racks during the day and just pickup and put in the racks at the end of the day, but unfortunately someone had taken to slipping the items out one by one. We didn’t notice the loss at first.

Replacing the equipment was expensive so finally the gym had to start locking up its equipment every single night after use. Everything had a place in the hall of long over-sized lockers and we could tell at a glance if something else was missing.

Not my best work, but nothing else came to mind. I don’t even know what they are. So that’s my story and I am sticking to it. And I know a gym that had this very same problem of equipment walking out the door.

  1. Dear Tessa,

An interesting take on the prompt. It’s truly not safe to leave anything out in the open these days, is it?

I am trying to picture someone strolling out with a rowing machine under their coat.

  3. A nice idea Tessa. The picture is in fact a system for storing extra documents / books in a library.

Great minds for sure. I just had another prompt I was going to write and decided to read one first. I usually don’t. They had the same idea too, so I had to change mine, came out better in the end I think. Thanks for stopping by.

  6. Nice story Tessa. Too bad that so much equipment went missing but so many people feel entitled these days.
