The Cemetery

“The cemetery spread along the area known as Devils Abode.”

Shawna and Lucas spent many happy afternoons here reading the tombstones and guessing at what they couldn’t. They did this every weekend. They always felt peace there.

For some reason, Shawna was upset and headed to their favorite place to try and catch the peace as usual. The problem was that it was after dark and she was suddenly afraid. No peace here.

“Shawna where are you,” Lucas yelled.

Just then Shawna bumped into a live body and it wasn’t Lucas he was on the other end of the cemetery calling her name.

She went to scream, but hands were around her throat before she got more than a light “ugh” out.

He squeezed the last of the life out of her while Lucas ran up.

“Is this right Lucas? Did I do it right?”
