Matilda smoothed her dress down as she heard the locomotive approaching. She was here to surprise her husband, Douglas. As the train pulled into the station she eagerly started watching for him. She saw him disembark, turn around to help a young lady out and then kiss her.
Matilda was shocked then outraged. She turned to leave, but Douglas saw her and looked perplexed. He came over to her and the young lady followed demanding to know who the girl was he was talking to.
Douglas turned to the young lady and said, “This is my wife Matilda.”
“I didn’t know you were married. How dare you?”
Matilda said nothing and watched the exchange. The train began to leave the station and was picking up speed.
The young lady yelled, ”Bastard,” and pushed Douglas down on the tracks in front of the quickly moving locomotive.
Matilda never said a word.
Great story Tessa, too bad for him! He shouldn’t been fooling around! Nicely done and thank you for participating in the FFfAW challenge.

Thank you! No he shouldn’t have been and he actually betrayed them both. He got his just desserts.

Very exciting ending. I guess Douglas got what he had coming!

Yes he did. He hid things from both women. Thank you for commenting.

A two-timing husband gets his comeuppance! Perhaps a bit harsh a punishment for the crime… but how effective in your story!

Thank you! The girlfriend was more upset than the wife. 🙂

She certainly was. And she has quite a temper too… A dangerous lady to cross. Nicely done, Tess. 🙂

He sure took a chance having the girlfriend nearby …and he got caught, and the worse part for him was getting thrown on the tracks…oh! well, he won’t be making that mistake again, will he! Enjoyable story. 🙂

Thank you! The best part is the wife had nothing to do with it. She’s innocent.
