My 2nd daughter, K2, was in senior year of high school and had hopes of becoming a nurse. She wanted to be a pediatric nurse at the time. Instead she got pregnant and before she graduated high school she had a son to raise. Because of him she got student aid, no loans. She did a semester or 2 of college, but she realized that raising a baby, working full time to support them and going to school full time just wasn’t going to work. She put her college dreams on the back burner and got a better paying job.

She worked there for many years, but wasn’t happy because her dream was to be a nurse. One day she quit her job, signed up for full time college and completed her Associates in Nursing in 2 years. She was now an RN. The school helped her find a job (happened to be a pediatrics office) to start getting experience. Eventually she moved on to a few other jobs. All the while she was working at going to school online to get her Bachelors in Nursing. She now has it and it will open up her job choices. She now has experience in different areas and all was well with the world.
