We all have strange relationships with punctuation — do you overuse exclamation marks? Do you avoid semicolons like the plague? What type of punctuation could you never live without? Tell us all about your punctuation quirks!

____________________________

I do have a strange relationship with punctuation. I tend to forget most of them exist except the period and exclamation point. I tend to use 3 exclamation points, an occasional comma and a period. Whether it is a question or declaration. Forget the semicolons!

I wrote a story and someone called me on the lack of comma’s and apostrophes for that matter. I tend to write out the whole word. Do not, not don’t. Now when I am over my word count I go back look and see if I can add an apostrophe or 10.
