Wicked Ways

Originally posted on 12/19/2012 and I just came across it and it reminds me why I wrote it. It is partially about my life and the hyper-sexuality caused by my bipolar disorder.

Wicked Ways

She was a wicked woman,
careless in her ways.

Gave a care for no one,
slept away her days.

At night she met the men,
different one each night.

One night she was beat up,
indifferent to her plight.

Obsessed with men, any man
She gave no thought to her soul.

Her friends finally intervened,
They tried to make her whole.

She ignored their advice,
and shut them all out.

Then one day she started
to feel some doubt.

She started to fear the future,
looked for ways to feel.

She stopped seeing the men,
and finally began to heal.

  1. I love the structure and I’m a sucker for rhyme. And of course the content makes you feel hopeful for her by the end.

I guess you have to hit bottom before you can climb back out. I hope she does heal!
