#WeekendCoffeeShare: 2/6/16

weekendcoffeeshareOk there is no food or beverages in this house except filtered water. So I will offer you water. I need to be a better hostess. I am simply not the hostess type.

Now if we were having coffee I would mention that last weekend was busy and we had two birthday parties (kids) and my brunch I try not to miss. Hence I kind of canceled last weeks coffee share, but I did share a few things.

If we were having coffee I would share that the chiropractor is thinking of dropping me down to 1 visit a week. Yeah for me. Let’s hope everything in my body holds in place.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that my neurotic cat is terrified of me again because I put that flea oil on her. Just 3 little drops. I can’t hold her so I managed to get one in the right place and the other two not quite so right.  I have to show her both hands now so she knows they are empty. Wonder how long her memory is. Have to do that once a month. I am mama non gratis right now, except for food and finally an occasional nuzzle.

If we were having coffee right now I would have to tell you that we were currently infested with fleas thanks to the dog and my dad who wouldn’t put a flea collar at the very  minimum on him. So I bought a collar, the Advantage (which he refused to use) and flea bath shampoo and laid down the law. They are biting me now. I also have a carpet powder since we can’t possibly bomb the house.

And that’s been my week.

Good luck with the fleas. They can be hard buggers to get rid of, particularly if you can’t bomb. But it is doable. I hope you have a great week!

  3. Good news that the chiropractor thinks that you can cope with less sessions. That has to be a plus but the fleas are definitely a negative. Hope you are successful in getting rid of them soon and you don’t get too many bites beforehand. Have a good week.

  4. For fleas I clean every from sheets and beeding , , carpets , dog,cat and people payin special attention to hair. Than repeat in 5 or 6 day until you don’t see a.y fleas. The life cycle of flea is 5 day. The first. Cleaning yoy get the larvae and adults. You miss eggs and pupae. There is no bomb that gets everything the first time. We have dogs and cats and only one bad flea infections when I barrow a crate that eyes and pupae were dormant. I got them before they infected the carpet and bedding. Good Luck. Glad you feeling good e.ough to cut out one visit.

Oh goodness, what a week. Good luck with the fleas. We’re in an area of the country where they thrive, so we keep our dog on a monthly pill, Comfortis. It works really well, but it is unfortunately hard on the pocketbook.

We shared your pain with the flea plague. We were away on holidays with the dogs and my husband popped home and they in plague proportions right throughout the house. With all of us away, he bombed the place 2 or 3 times to get rid of them. They came back and Bilbo, our Border Collie, developed a severe flea allergy and was off to the vet and put on prednisone and antibiotics. Been rounded up by a starving sheep dog is no fun! Yet, he lost a lot of weight…and fur. His poor tail is still looking bad. Vet advised us to vacuum twice. First time hatches the eggs and the second time collects the fleas. We seem to be okay again but I think the fleas are immune to some of the treatments…like those blasted nits.
Humph..allergy dog is starting to scratch again. Grr!
    Good luck!

Sorry to hear that. Dad refuses to bomb and I kind of agree. We would have to leave and it is so expensive. We slowed the itching of the animals at least.
