“Judy and John – A Friend Shows Up”
By Teresa Smeigh March 2016
“Sergeant Angelina Bascomb reporting back to duty, Lieutenant Burns. What happened to the Missus, er civilian, may I ask?”
“Wait medic. Sergeant Bascomb is a full Registered Nurse now. The civilian’s been shot. Can you do anything here to help her make it to the hospital alive?”
Then I want a full report on the subject, do I make myself clear? Yes sir!”
“Yes, sir, boy do I have news for you.”
Gina was excited to see her sister, plus she had been promised the full RN training next. She wanted to hear everything too.
Lina leaned over Judy all business. She made a great nurse and is always fully involved with her work no matter weather it be capturing prisoners, nursing, or training others. She worked for some time and actually managed to remove most of the bullets from her. The others were minor and Judy started to come around.
“Thank you Gina!” Then she saw Gina and Lina together. “Why do I have double vision, but wait their uniforms aren’t quite the same!”
She was introduced to Gina and Lina Bascomb and the German Shepherd, Centurion and then sent to the hospital. Everyone began to relax.
“Sergeant Bascomb, please join me in the middle of the field over there for debriefing and everyone else stays at least 100 yards away. I mean it! Take a break elsewhere!”
“Sergeant, how’s Michael and the other baby. Both safe and sound, I hope.”
“My ma says Michael has a slight cold, but remember she is a registered nurse as well. Michael will be fine and his birthing recovery is doing well though bonding with his mom is important. As soon as she has recovered enough to return, send her back and have ma watched over her recovery too.”
“Will do Sergeant, great idea. Thank you for the offer, hope your ma won’t mind.”
“Ma loves it when she has someone to nurse. The other baby is fine and will be ready for the orphanage soon. Unless you want another baby? They were born at the same time. Could be fraternal twins.”
“I would be interested, but totally up to Judy.”
Lina laughed, “ Will keep her out of trouble, maybe.”
John could see that everyone else was anxious to see Lina, so he let he go back to the group waiting and talking excitedly among themselves.
John, went over to Joan and David and explained the story, the condition of Judy and Michael and possibly adopting the other baby. They were excited too!
Just then the Police Chief of Bush Mills comes over the hill with two associates. What the heck? Everyone turns when he whistles the enemy is near from the code list. Enemy near? John is thinking! He doesn’t appear armed, but the two associates are!
Silence and confusion reign.
“Hello my dear friends. What a beautiful land. Australia is simply lovely. I would enjoy it more if Boaz’s cousins hadn’t forced me here. They have tried torture, but it won’t work. I love you two too much for that. I will never give up the baby’s location. They will have to kill me first.”
“You know, we just might! Don’t think we won’t.”
“Buzz off you annoying bast…er…jerks. Sorry didn’t notice all the women here and if you kill me you won’t find out the location of the wee one. Think about that one you dumb asses.”
“John asked the two alleged cousins where they came from?”
“Just over the hill from here, but we went home to Bush Mills Grove, when we heard what happened to our Pa and Grandpa. Drop your weapons,” the two yell!
John and the men all move in front of the women and yell that no they won’t. John informed them that their men all surrendered and were on their way to the brig. The police of chief relaxed a little bit.
“Surrender or die,” John yells. Our men come to attention, guns pointed. The enemy tried to stare them out. We have more men coming says the lead guy.
The chief of police, forgotten, shakes his head.
Constructive Criticism welcome!
Please excuse any mistakes in places, ranks and things such as that. I don’t have time for full research. That will be saved in case I take this to a book. This is for enjoyment only.
