The Project
“Dennis! What are you doing?” Janice reaches for the tools in her son’s hand.
“Mom, I’m working on my school project.” He reaches for the tools.
“No! These are dangerous for a 7 year old boy.”
“I ain’t a baby anymore.”
“You should have asked for help”
“I wanted to do it myself.”
“What are you making?” Janice eyes the contraption stuck in a bucket.
“I have to make something that shows my heroes favorite saying.”
“And what is that?”
“The world is going to hell in a hand bucket.”

Thanks to Doug MacIlroy for sharing the photo prompt this week.

About Tessa
My name is Tessa Dean and I am an author and blogger. My writing styles vary and I love writing using prompts.
I am also writing my first book, a Memoir entitled "Government Property - A Memoir of a Military Wife". This is being published on the blog rather than the traditional way. I am putting up chapters as I go along. I keep my blog filled with useful content, stories, and poems. Plenty to keep you busy. I have also been interviewed by blogs and had other posts published on many different blogs. I also wrote a series of articles on Bipolar Disorder for IBPF (International Bipolar Foundation).
I am in my 60’s and disabled which allows me plenty of time to write to my heart’s content.
I live in southern New Jersey and have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. My oldest grandchild is a Sargent in the United States Marine Corps.
Hahaha! I wonder which hero made the mistake of saying that around the boy?

LOL! I was thinking grandpa, but ran out of words. More of an old-fashioned saying I think. Thank you for stopping by!

Heh, very entertaining!
I’ve never been particularly skilled at being short fiction, or even being terse once I start on an idea, in fact… I’m kind of like Wash in that scene from War Stories… never mind.
But this was fun and though I’m pretty terrible at flash fiction, I always get a kick out of reading enjoyable pieces of the same. Thanks.
Also, thanks for dropping by my site, always nice to have a new face. If you ever feel inclined, would love to hear what you think of the stories I’ve posted up/post up.
Cheers and happy holidays.

Thank you for stopping by. I am glad you enjoyed my story. Hard to write with a very limited word limit for sure. I read some of your stories and enjoyed them.
