Nancy ran, quickly, stumbling on her heels. Her pursuer was gaining rapidly.
She stepped down on the drain and lost a shoe. She didn’t dare stop, he was too close.
“Hey lady, stop!” A man’s voice was shouting at her. No way was she stopping in this area.
“Lady please stop,” he said breathlessly.
Nancy tripped over a log and hurt her foot and had no choice, but to stop. She turned to face her attacker.
“Geesh lady, all I wanted to do was return your purse. You dropped it when you got out of the car.”
